Ambassador Elisabeth Fitzsimmons met with AWEP Togo Chapter Board members on Friday, April 1 at the Embassy. The objective of this meeting was to introduce the association of women entrepreneurs, some of whom have benefited from the “African Women Entrepreneurship Program” of the U.S. Government.
Ms. Abra Tenu, president of the association had the opportunity to present the “Stand Out” and AGOA projects funded by the embassy while exposing the challenges they face.
This meeting allowed the officials of the embassy to discover the website www.awetogo.tg which aims essentially at exporting the products made by the women of the group. Ms. Fitzsimmons was delighted with the meeting and encouraged the women entrepreneurs to continue their efforts and especially to maintain the course for an effective export of their products to the United States under the AGOA.
