On January 25, 2020, the Great Meeting Hall of Aneho City Hall hosted the conference called “How Women Rise” organized by GAAT (Global Alumni Association of Togo)  and supported by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S Embassy. The audience of about 300 participants included students, teachers and business women from Aneho, Anfoin and surroundings. It was in the presence of the Director of Public Affairs of the U.S. Embassy in Togo, Mrs. Tiffany Miller, and educational and  political authorities, namely the Mayor of the city of Aneho and Honorable Deputy Gabiam who actively participated in the program. The panels focused on topics of  Women’s Entrepreneurship, the Success of Girls at School, and the Role of Men as defenders of Women’s Rights. In her speech, Ms. Miller, after praising the merit of Togolese women, stressed the importance of the topic in these words: “I also noticed that Togolese women do not expect men to offer them development on a golden platter, but they want to take charge of their own development, and in this respect they share the same interest as the U.S. Embassy.”

This program started last year and will continue on Wednesday, January 29 in Vogan.
